Privacy Policy

This policy covers the website tryinsight.app, including the public demo at /demo/. The Insight application at login.tryinsight.app is covered by its own policy, provided when an account is created.
1. Who is responsible
Insight is a sole proprietorship operated by Denis Mazerolle-Imbeault, in Laval, Québec, Canada.

2. This site uses no cookies
No cookies. No analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising, no embedded social buttons. Nothing is written to your browser's storage, including on the demo page, whose figures are fictional and written into the page itself.
So there is no consent banner on this site: there is nothing to consent to. Fonts are served from our own domain rather than a third-party service, so that simply reading a page does not hand your IP address to anyone but our host.
3. What is collected anyway
Server logs
Our host automatically records, for each visit: IP address, browser type, page requested, timestamp, and the referring page if there is one. This is how a web server works. These logs keep the site running, secure it, and help diagnose outages. They are not tied to your name and are not used for profiling.
If you book a call
The booking button leads to Cal.com, a third-party service. What you enter there — name, email address, time zone, and anything you write in the message field — is passed to us so the call can happen. Cal.com acts on our behalf and applies its own privacy policy.
If you email us
An email to denis@tryinsight.app leaves us your address, your name if it appears in the message, and its contents. Our mailbox is hosted by Spacemail and forwarded to a Gmail inbox, where we read it.
If you leave feedback on the demo
The demo page has a “Got an idea?” box. What you write there is sent to us by email, along with the language and the demo page you were on. Nothing is stored on the site itself: the message exists only as the email it becomes.
The email field is optional. If you fill it in, your address is used only to reply to you about that message. It is not added to any mailing list. Please don’t put sensitive information in the message.
That is the only form on the site. Nothing else is collected.
4. What it is used for
- Replying to you and preparing the call you asked for.
- Improving Insight from feedback left on the demo.
- Running the site, keeping it available, and protecting it from abuse.
- Following up with you about Insight if you wrote to us or booked a call. You can ask us to stop at any time, and we stop.
5. What we don't do
- We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. Not ever, to anyone.
- We run no targeted advertising and pass nothing to ad networks.
- We build no browsing profile.
- No decision about you is made on this site by automated processing.
6. Service providers, and hosting outside Québec
Only five providers touch the information described above:

That information is therefore stored or processed outside Québec. Each of these providers is bound by its own contractual data-protection commitments. What leaves Québec is limited to what section 3 describes: no company financial data passes through this site.
7. How long
- Server logs: kept by the host according to its own retention period, on the order of a few weeks. We keep no copy.
- Bookings, emails and feedback: kept as long as the exchange remains useful, and at most 24 months after the last contact, after which they are deleted.
- You can ask for deletion sooner. See the next section.
8. Your rights
Québec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector gives you the right to:
- know what information we hold about you and obtain a copy of it;
- have it corrected if it is inaccurate, incomplete or ambiguous;
- withdraw your consent and ask for deletion;
- receive the information you gave us in a structured, commonly used technological format;
- ask that information about you stop being disseminated, or be de-indexed.
Write to denis@tryinsight.app. We answer within 30 days. There is no charge.
If our answer does not satisfy you, you may complain to the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.
9. Security
The site is served entirely over HTTPS. The accounts that reach the email and booking data are protected by two-factor authentication. No measure is perfect; in the event of a confidentiality incident presenting a risk of serious injury, the people concerned and the Commission d'accès à l'information would be notified, as the law requires.
10. Minors
This site is addressed to business owners. It is not aimed at people under 14, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
11. Changes
Any change is published on this page, with a new update date at the top. If a change is significant — adding an audience-measurement tool, for instance — it will be flagged clearly rather than slipped into the text.
